Ayşe Polat (born November 19, 1970)〔 is a Turkish-Kurdish script writer and film director living in Germany.〔 She was born in Malatya〔 and moved to Germany when she was eight. Polat studied German, philosophy and cultural sciences〔 at the Free University of Berlin and at the University of Bremen.
